My work spans television documentaries, current affairs programs, video essays, and feature articles, with bylines at Al Jazeera, OkayAfrica, Refinery29, New Lines Magazine, The New Arab, Middle East Eye, The Voice Newspaper, Africa Is A Country, African Arguments, Afropean, Huffington Post, Black Ballad, and Gal-Dem.

As an international news producer for TRT World in Istanbul, I report on race, Black histories and cultures, tech trends, the climate crisis, international relations, and Middle Eastern and Muslim communities. I also serve as a senior producer on Across The Balkans, a discussion show that delves into the issues and fault lines shaping Southeast Europe and the Balkan region today.

My achievements include being nominated for the 2024 Media Professional Award and earning the title of Journalist of the Year in 2023, both at the UK African and African-Caribbean Muslim Awards. In 2020, I also won the FIPP & UPM Rising Stars in Media award for my video essays on TRT World’s Newsfeed programme, where I broke new ground as the first Black British Muslim woman in hijab to report on location in Turkey. In 2023, I was honoured to be selected as a judge for the Sandford St. Martins Awards, the UK's leading broadcast award recognizing excellence in content that explores religious, spiritual, or ethical themes across radio, TV, and online platforms.

Some of my essays are featured in anthologies published by Hurst's Critical Muslim series.
​
I have appeared on America's National Public Radio and lectured at the School of Oriental and African Studies, the Muslim Institute, and the Bradford Literature Festival. Institutions such as Rutgers University have cited my work.​

I hold a Master’s degree in Middle East politics and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in History from the University of London.
